On Sunday, September 22nd the Tom Presley Tournament (organized by Jackie Winzer) are collaborating for the first time to honor those who have lost their battle with cancer with a fundraiser at Rancho Del Rey Golf Course in Atwater.
“Relay for Life is a community program designed to bring people together to honor those lost to the battle, as well as offering encouragement to those still fighting; and fundraise in an effort to help ease the hardships brought by Cancer. In a combined effort across the Nation, ACS has made enormous advances for patients; adding years to lives through offered programs, worthwhile education and invaluable medical research. It is our combined dream to find a Cure that will keep us volunteering.” said Mary Grissom, an 11 year volunteer.
“All the volunteers that help out with the annual event have all been touched by cancer in some form or another,” said Marry.
A silent auction, raffle prizes, and food will be available during the event.
Last year, Relay for Life Golf committee raised $5,300. This year’s goal is $8,000.
“The generosity of our Sponsors deserves a standing ovation. They are truly the backbone to the tournament’s success!” said Marry.
All proceeds will be donated to the Relay for Life of Merced/Atwater.
The Tom Presley/Relay for Life Golf Tournament starts at 9 a.m. at the Rancho Del Rey Golf Course at 5250 Green Sands Avenue.
