Man attempts to avoid arrest, hides under mattress in Winton

On November 13, 2019, the Merced County Sheriff’s Office STAR Team arrested Ervin Segebart.

Merced County Sheriff Deputies began searching for Ervin Segebart who had a felony warrant for his arrest for a violation of parole. Deputy Damien Sparks and his K-9 Partner searched a residence in the 7000 Block of Crawford Street in Winton for Segebart.

K-9 Zeke quickly located Segebart hiding under a mattress.

K-9 Zeke encouraged Segebart to come out of his hiding spot and Deputy Sparks arrested Segebart.

Deputies transported Segebart to a local hospital before booking him into the Merced County Jail.
