On August 17, 2018, deputies served a marijuana cultivation search warrant in the 15000 block of Roseann Court in Delhi resulting in the arrest of 44- year-old Jose Reyes Martinez and 44 year old Norma Angelica Alvarez. Deputies located a loaded AK-47 and 80 pounds of packaged marijuana for sale in the master bedroom closet. The deputies eradicated 12 large marijuana plants from the rear yard which were contained in a makeshift green house.

During the investigation deputies learned the 15-year old-daughter was given marijuana from her mother to use and sell from her bedroom. Deputies located packaged marijuana for sale, marijuana edibles and other items associated with the sales and use of marijuana belonging to the daughter. CPS responded and interviewed both juveniles in the house and determined they needed to be placed into custody for their protection.

Today deputies eradicated marijuana from eight locations throughout Merced County totaling 180 pounds of processed marijuana, 348 plants and 4 firearms. Deputies have confiscated 77 firearms during marijuana investigations from 125 locations over the last 10 months.
