A UC Merced officer was arrested for stalking his ex-girlfriend and domestic violence, according to the Merced Police Department.

The victim told officers their relationship ended last month and Garcia had physically and sexually assaulted her.

Leading to his arrest, investigators found a GPS tracking device hidden inside the victim’s vehicle. Investigators believe Garcia planted the tracking device in the victim’s vehicle to track her movements.
Leading to Garcia’s arrest, the UC Merced website, took down his photo and bio information.
Garcia was booked into the Merced County Jail on numerous felony charges related to domestic violence, stalking, false imprisonment, sexual assault, and unlawful use of an electronic tracking device to locate or track a person.
