Early Tuesday morning, construction crews broke ground for the new Rapid Xpress Car Wash, which is expected to open in October 2020. This will be its second location, the other being in Merced.

The Atwater Rapid Xpress Car Wash will be a half acre, 50-60 feet bigger then the Merced location, according to VP of Operations Jessie Chauhan. 

Merced County and Atwater officials really sped up the process in making this happen, Jessie said.

Memberships can be used at both locations.

The new Rapid Xpress Car Wash will hire 20-25 employees, Jessie said.

The new location will be on Commerce Avenue across from Applebees in Atwater.
