The Merced California Highway Patrol is investigating a vehicle vs pedestrian incident involving an on-duty Merced Police officer last night.
Authorities responded to the 1400 block of G Street for a vehicle vs pedestrian just after 10:00 p.m.
According to an early investigation, a Merced Police officer struck and killed a pedestrian while she was walking on the roadway. The female was pronounced deceased on scene.
The Officer has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the conclusion of the investigation(s).
