A Mexican restaurant called El Palmar Taqueria had their re-grand opening earlier this month in Merced.
“We’ve been at this location for more than 6 years,” said Co- Owner Carlos Torres.
Before brothers Carlos and Baldemar Torres opened their restaurant in Merced, they both worked at a well-known Mexican restaurant in Turlock for nearly 10-years. “We did a little bit of everything there,” said Carlos.
After doing everything from washing dishes, cooking, and managing a restaurant, both brothers had the opportunity to start their own business.
“There was a small store here,” said Carlos. “We transformed it to a restaurant. “We had very little money at the time”
Now more than 6 years after they opened their Merced location, they recently remolded the restaurant and added two other co-owners Richard Perez and Ignacio Torres.
“We decided to remodel the restaurant to attract more costumers,” said Co-Owner Baldemar Torres.
The owners will soon be offering a delivery service for their food in their newly purchased delivery vehicle.
Which much success of their current location, the owners decided to open a second location in Merced on G Street and Olive Avenue in the Rite Aid Shopping Center. The second location will be named El Palmar Taqueria Xpress.
Their second location on G Street and Olive is set to open in early October.
The owners told Merced Daily they’re currently hiring for cooks, dishwashers, and waitress/waiters.
To apply you can get an application at their original location at 1127 Martin Luther King Jr Way in Merced.
