Several patients were evacuated after a fire in the laundry room at Anberry Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Atwater.
Incident happened around 9:35 p.m.
Fire personnel responded to Anberry Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and saw smoke coming out from the rear of the structure, according Merced County Fire/CaFire, battalion chief Mark Pimentel.
“When fire personnel made entry, the sprinklers already were discharged, containing the fire.” said battalion chief Mark Pimentel.”
For precautionary reasons all occupants were evacuated from the building.
The facility had to be aired out, according to battalion chief Mark Pimentel.
Nearly 2 hours later, everyone was able to go back inside.
No injuries reported.
