The Livingston Fire Department unveiled their new Type-6 engine to the public, Engine 696, early Saturday morning at the Livingston Fire Station.
“This shows Livingston’s commitment to public safety,” said the mayor of Livingston, Gurpal Samra. “We have one of the best funded police departments and we’re working just as hard for our fire department to keep Livingston residents safe.”
Merced County Supervisor, Rodrigo Espinoza says,”This is good not just for Livingston, but for Merced County. Livingston is trying to get approval for Engine 696 to serve the surrounding communities in Merced County.”
The new fire engine can hold up to six people and get into smaller areas that regular fire engines can get through. The new Type-6 engine cost more than $200,000.
