A 5-year-old child was struck by a truck on Crest Road near Muir Avenue in Atwater, according to Atwater Police Chief Michael Salvador.
The incident is under investigation, but Salvador said the driver stayed on the scene, and the 5-year-old was airlifted to an unknown hospital.
The driver of the truck was not under the influence, according to Salvador.
A portion of Crest Road is blocked off as officers investigate.
