The Atwater Police Department received multiple calls of a shooting on the 2500 block of Shaffer Road.
According to Atwater Police Chief Michael Salvador, officers found two adult gunshot victims, male and female, inside a vehicle.
Salvador said life-saving measures were taken, but both victims were pronounced deceased on the scene.
The reasons why the victims were in their current location are still under investigation.
“This was not a random shooting or a gang-related shooting,” said Salvador.
Salvador did not disclose any information about a possible suspect.
A motive is still under investigation.
