On April 8, 2019, the Atwater City Council approved a Traffic Signal Interconnect Project which would put a traffic signal on the interconnect area of Winton Way/Olive Avenue, a raised median on Applegate Road, and interconnect Synchronization of traffic signals of Bell Lane, Bell Drive, Commerce Avenue, Applegate Road, Olive Avenue, and Winton Way.

All improvements will improve traffic flow, according Interim Public Works Director, Brian Shaw.

The traffic Signal Interconnect Project will be constructed by Tim Paxin’s Pacific Excavation Inc. The total cost will be approximately $554,443 and will be completely funded.

No estimated date of completion is available at this time but an update on a projected time frame could be possible at the next Atwater City Council Meeting on April 22, 2019.
