Two people were injured after a traffic collision in Winton.
Incident happened 11:22 a.m.
A traffic collision involving a 1999 Honda Civic and Ford box truck occurred on Winton Way and Mercedes Avenue.
The driver of the Honda Civic was traveling eastbound on Mercedes Avenue and the box truck was traveling 45-50 mph northbound on Winton Way. The Honda Civic failed to yield at the stop sign to the box truck for unknown reasons. The vehicles then collided, CHP say.
The driver of the Honda Civic, 18-year-old Ruben Alvarez (Atwater) was transported to Modesto Memorial for major injuries but weren’t life-threatening. The driver of the Ford box truck, 59- year-old Carmen Ramirez (Winton) was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Merced, CHP say.
Drugs or alcohol aren’t believed to be a factor in this traffic collision, according to CHP.
