On October 25th at 10:36 PM Atwater Police Officers responded to a report of an injury accident in the 2200 Block of Olive Ave. Officers arrived within three minutes and found two motorcycle riders unresponsive under a truck. Cal Fire and Riggs Ambulance personnel assisted Atwater Police to extricate them from under the truck. Both riders were transported to local hospitals for treatment and are listed in critical condition. It was determined that a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle, ridden by the two injured parties, struck a parked 2001 Ford Ranger truck.

Based upon evidence at the scene, it appears that the motorcycle was traveling south on Herman Street and failed to stop for the posted stop sign at the intersection with Olive Avenue. The motorcycle then struck the parked truck on the south curb of Olive Avenue. Speed is believed to be a factor in this accident.

The identities of the injured parties are being withheld pending contact with family members. It also appears that one of the riders was not wearing a motorcycle helmet.
